Mindfulness-Based program – a good remedy after the holidays
How are you?
Are you stressed?
Do you know you will need a reboot after the family holidays?
Or maybe you want to start again after the summer break with a new approach to how you want to live your life?
There are many reasons we may want to take on a new set of skills or practices to support our well-being and care for our needs.
How do we experience things?
The flow of our daily lives means that there will be many moments of success and much joy, especially around the holidays. Yet it is also inevitable that we will encounter difficulties and challenges. The state of our mind shapes how we see and experience the world.
Do we see happiness or do we magnify our difficulties?
Are we capable of dealing with difficult situations or are we being led by them?
Through the patient cultivation of awareness, we soon discover that actually, we do have a choice.
And it requires practice to step away from reactivity and automatic habits and behaviours.

How can Mindfulness help?
Mindfulness and meditation, through the 8-week mindfulness-based group program, is a great way to begin a fresh and transform our lives. There really are no quick fixes to resolve our mental health and emotional challenges – these took time to grow within us and will take care, presence and the generosity of our attention to transform.
Mindfulness is simply a way of paying attention to things as they happen in the present moment, with an open-hearted curiosity towards ourselves and our experience. With mindfulness, we bring awareness to our inner and outer experiences in the present moment and learn to connect the body and mind to better understand ourselves. There is no striving to go somewhere, to feel something else, or to block things out. We slow down and pause, creating space to observe what is happening in the moment – in this space, we may choose how to respond to our experience.
The Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction course is a great way to begin this journey. With the support of a skilful guide and teacher and the group you can develop new ways and means to support yourself in times of stress, and difficulties, to experience transformational changes that help you attend to the good things in life – which we often overlook.
