My Green Smoothie

The sun is shining today and I found myself having a great desire to get out and hit the trails around DB.  So with a lunch appointment cancelled I decided to do just that…… and what a wonderful idea it was.  I feel refreshed, energized and can’t stop smiling.  The sun and nature are truly amazing…… and so might I add is the smoothie I am having after the hike.  So nice in fact that I am inspired to share my take on the ‘green smoothie’.  Here’s what you need.

  • The juice and flesh of 1 young coconut
  • 1/2 a frozen banana
  • a handful of berries
  • 1-2 handfuls of spinach, kale or other leafy green (today I used some young choi sum)
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • 1 tsp ground flaxseed
  • 1 -2 tsp coconut oil
  • 1 tsp Berry Radical 
  • 1 tsp InLiven
  • 2 scoops whey protein (we use Dr Mercola Miracle Whey Protein)
  • 1 tbl raw cacao nibs

Blend all the ingredients and ENJOY!
